Joann Paul, lovingly known as "Joey", was born on May 21, 1980, in Brooklyn, NY to Lysius and Jacqueline Paul. During her years, Joann spent her time loving on people at both their early and later stages of life by crocheting blankets for newborns and providing companionship to the elderly on weekends. Joann enjoyed making people laugh and smile, and it was wise to stay on her good side.

Joann is survived by her three children, Jemimah, Johanna, and Lysius "Chris"; her older siblings, Renald, Lysius "Tuby", Lorna, Marina, Dorline, Sueann, and Rachealle; her nieces and nephews, Justin, Chuckie, Lia, Nina, Natasha, Nathaniel, Jakailah, Jayson, Jacob, Jeremiah, Jalyssah-Jacqueline, Genesis, Kasandra; and her great-nieces, Amara and Rose.
